The journey
Before, during & after
Each stage of the project, told in pictures and words.
-
1 Stage 1 of 3
Before
The original garden had a long-tired paved area — cracked slabs, weeds through the joints and a layout that no longer worked for the owners. The brief was to start again from a clean base.
-
2 Stage 2 of 3
Strip-out
The full surface was lifted and the broken paving removed. We cleared the area down to a solid base ready for the new build-up — the rubble pile is a good measure of what came out.
-
3 Stage 3 of 3
Rebuild
New sub-base laid, levels set and porcelain tiles being placed on a fresh mortar bed with consistent spacers. The contrast with the original surface is already clear at this stage.
